In excavations made recently in the village of Akrotiri at Santorini remnants of this type fava were found, which proves that it was cultivated since ancient times.

It acquires unique taste, with refined aroma, gives excellent material for original dishes, tasty and healthy. It has a very soft and sweet taste due to the microclimate and the volcanic soil of Santorini. It is characterized by especially high protein and high carbohydrate content.
